Canadian properties worth in excess of a hundred million dollars

Twin glass towers and a swish shopping complex at Preston Square in downtown Ottawa form just part of an enormous foreign property portfolio controlled in Canada by the family of Sarawak Chief Minister, Abdul Taib Mahmud, according to our exclusive investigations.

These buildings alone are worth at least one hundred million dollars and generate a healthy rental income from some of Canada’s top corporations, including Xerox, Adobe and Sun Life, who rent office space and retail outlets. Numerous Canadian Government Ministries are also listed at the building.

Bodoh, Bangang atau Bahlul?
16 June 2010

When I was in Form One (which seems like a million years ago), a class-mate asked me "Engkau ni bodoh ke, bangang ke atau bahlul?" That's when I learnt that there are 3 categories of stupid. I forgot all about it untill this week - when I suddenly remembered that question. It was triggered by 3 pieces of news, all about money, splashed in our newspapers.

News 1
Government comtemplates building a new Parliament building in Putrajaya at a cost of RM 800 million.

News 2
Cost of building the new palace escalates to RM 811 million.

News 3
Datuk Nazri Abd Aziz says "Government hasn't got enough money to provide our students with scholarships.

Myth-making gets a new stage today when the postponed intimidatory May 13 rally organised by a devout idoliser of Mahathir Mohamad is held in Kuala Terengganu. The Mamak or Mamak Kutty (as he is widely and vulgarly known) will be there with a so-called keynote address, ready to clothe intimidation with cloying references to the uplifting of Malay society.

Postponed or not, there can be no mistaking the nexus between the original choice of date and that day of blood-letting in 1969 when Umno Malay political hegemony seemed to have shattered.

Nor can one overlook the nexus between the rally and Dr Mahathir, the person around whom this has been organised (the continuing references to his preferably-forgotten-ancestry aside) and his long-established politics of race-baiting.

Heil 1Rosmah, queen of our hearts? HAH!

Did you notice? The Malaysian constitution just got rewritten.

There’s a new menu at Parliament — tripe and waffles, served piping hot. Not in the canteen, but in the chamber itself. The prime minister himself was dishing it out this week, protecting the presumed position of his wife Rosmah Mansor, the usurper and pretend queen of the land, while pretending to defend the position of the constitutional Queen, the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

In the process, he just about rewrote the constitution. And all the papers went along with the gag, bending every which way to avoid calling out the plain facts.

STUDY LOAN DEFAULTERS, SHAME ON YOU!
17 June 2010

The Malaysian government’s decision to eventually scrap the 1,500 Public Service Department (PSD) scholarships has drawn much flak from all quarters. This move will deprive academically gifted students, particularly those from low income families, of an opportunity to further their education and contribute to the future development of the country.

Gulf of Mexico: Will the Gas Bubble Burst?

(Coast2Coast) – According to Richard C. Hoagland, insider sources in BP and in U.S. Government say that there is a gas bubble 15-20 Miles across 10+ feet high near BP’s oil well head in the Gulf of Mexico. It may cause an explosion with apocalyptic proportions in weeks or months. The pressure at the well is 100,000 PSI and when the gas explodes it will be like Mount St. Helens going off underwater. It will create a cloud of death and a tsunami wave traveling at 400-600 MPH sinking all vessels around the area as well as drive all hazardous materials including the oil inland.

"As things stand now, the human race is dreaming a hell. But as individuals and as a collective humanity it is our potential to dream of paradise and to create the kingdom of heaven on our Mother Earth. Could it be that the pain in our hearts caused by the hell we have created will spur us on into visions and creations of a world formed in love? It is my prayer and dream, along with a multitude of others who have taught me to dream the Rainbow dream, that each and every one of us learn to dream both while awake and sleeping, the dream of unity and love through divine transformation. This prophecy is a dream and vision that is a potential reality for mankind. It is not an ultimatum. But it is ours to behold and to create if we only dare to dream it together." ~ Aleran (from The Rainbow Dream Vision of Hope)

A Wishbone Ash retrospective

Thanks to Razak Yusoff (and YouTube) whose video link on Facebook restimulated some fond memories of my early infatuation with this classic rock band which has inspired at least two generations of air guitarists. Here's a selection of what I consider the best of Wishbone Ash. Note that I've kept my favorite song for the last...

Wishbone Ash are considered to be one of the major innovators of the harmony twin lead guitar format. Formed in Devon, United Kingdom (in 1969) by Martin Turner (bass/vocals) the original Wishbone Ash line-up was completed by guitarists/vocalists Andy Powell and Ted Turner, and Steve Upton (drums and percussion). In 1974, Ted Turner left the band, and was replaced by Laurie Wisefield. The band continued on with strong critical and commercial success until 1980.

After revolving line-ups featuring former members from King Crimson, Trapeze, and Uriah Heep, Laurie Wisefield quit in 1985. In 1987, however, the original line-up reunited for several albums - Nouveau Calls, Here to Hear, and Strange Affair - until 1990, when Steve Upton quit the band. After Martin Turner was replaced in 1991, the band recorded Live In Chicago, before Ted Turner quit in 1993. Since 1995, the band have continued with mixed critical and commercial success, changing members on several albums. In 2004, Martin Turner formed his own version of Wishbone Ash, and tours frequently.

My first exposure to Wishbone Ash was in 1972 when I bought their outstanding Argus album (which features many of the songs included in this post). I was immediately drawn to their clean, precise, beautifully constructed guitar harmonies, conjuring long-buried memories of ancient battlefields and bravery - while evoking an uplifting sense of soulful lyricism and spiritual warriorship.

The cover of the Argus album showed a helmeted sentinel standing atop a misty hill, clutching a spear and gazing at the sky. At first sight it was like a scene right out of 9th century Britain - but a closer look reveals a flying saucer approaching from a distance. This unexpected blend of Sword and Saucery proved to be a heady concoction and Wishbone Ash became an immensely popular touring band, especially in the US.

Commercial success brought along its own problems and Wishbone Ash suffered numerous changes of personnel, with a couple of original members walking out. In 1998 lead guitarist Andy Powell formally registered "Wishbone Ash" as a trademark, effectively assuming leadership and management of the band. Prior to that, founding member Martin Turner had favored a more democratic approach to business whereby everyone had an equal share of the royalties.

With Andy Powell in charge, the others in the band became hired sessionists.

In 2004 Martin Turner decided to form a splinter group called Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash and performed a series of concerts which yielded a few live albums, as well as a new version of the 1972 Argus album.

Despite personality differences and frequent lineup changes Wishbone Ash has somehow managed to keep going as a musical entity for more than 40 years. The latest album, Power of Eternity, was released in 2007.

German student attacks Hell’s Angels with puppy

BERLIN, June 15 – A German student created a major traffic jam in Bavaria after making a rude gesture at a group of Hell’s Angels motorcycle gang members, hurling a puppy at them and then escaping on a stolen bulldozer.

German police said yesterday that after making his getaway from the Hell’s Angels club, the 26-year-old dumped the bulldozer, causing a 5km (3 miles) traffic jam near the southern town of Allershausen, local police said.

He then fled to his home nearby where he was apprehended by the police.

“What motivated him to throw a puppy at the Hell’s Angels is currently unclear,” said a spokesman for local police, adding that the student had lately been suffering from depression.

The puppy was now in safe hands, the spokesman added.

VATICAN OFFICIAL TIED TO BP, GOLDMAN-SACHS, AND MEDIA CENSORSHIP IN THE OIL FIASCO INCREASING EVIDENCE OF FOUL PLAY

by Sherri Kane and Leonard G. Horowitz

News unfolding from the oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico has linked media censorship to investment bankers at Goldman Sachs (GS) stewarding the Vatican's wealth, and increasing evidence that the explosion was intended.

A near total news blackout from independent sources, and arrests of anyone caught photographing and filming the devastation, show the Halliburton-British Petroleum (BP) oil crisis is being criminally controlled, implicating some of Wall Street's heaviest hitters.

According to a report issued by frightened, yet faithful, documentary filmmaker, James Fox, interviewed from the Gulf's Grand Isles by Mel Fabregas on the Internet's Veritas Radio Show, "There is a complete media blackout" on news coverage broadcast from the region.

"They are arresting people with cameras and anyone off camera that is caught talking to a reporter," Fox testified.

Another reporter told Fox,"You call this a free country? Right here, in the United States of America, there's no freedom of press. There's no freedom of speech. They're closing down the airspace above the oil spill, so reporter's can't fly over to determine how bad these oil plumes really are."

Suspicious pieces of this deadly puzzle feature Halliburton, the world's second largest oil field services company, headquartered in Houston and Dubai, whose negligence is blamed for the timely and profitable explosion.

Three weeks before the "natural gas leak," the George Bush/Dick Cheney 9-11-linked Halliburton company negotiated the purchase of the world's largest oil-spill cleanup firm (Boots & Coots) at the exact time keen observers on Wall Street - financial intelligence agents at Goldman Sachs (GS; often called "Government Sachs") - unloaded 44% of their stock in BP.

These facts parallel the shorting of airline stocks by those in the know prior to the World Trade Center (WTC) 9-11 attacks that new scientific evidence proves were followed by building demolitions, given the red thermite incendiary powder found everywhere around ground zero.

The WTC lessor, Larry Silverstein, partnered with Lloyd Blankfein of GS in the little known Partnership for New York City (PFNYC), took out a General Electric insurance policy just six weeks before the attacks. PFNYC "partners," in charge of assessing financial damages to NYC, and reconstruction plans for the WTC, obviously "veered" insurance payoffs and additional private equity investments to Las Vegas for the construction of the 9-11 memorial - speciously called the "Veer Towers" in the "New World Center." (Watch PHARMAWHORES, the movie; 1-888-508-4787.)

Blankfein, the PFNYC Co-Chairman and GS CEO, was barraged with indictments and rising media infamy regarding Goverment Sachs's conflicting interests effectively demolishing the US economy through the "shorting" of the housing industry - scrutiny suspended by Halliburton's oil rig synchronously exploding most profitably for GS and its CEO.

GS is covertly invested in the Bush-Cheney-linked Halliburton Company according to veteran observers. GS and Halliburton both had massive financial incentives to cause the profitable explosions - the three 9-11 WTC building demolitions, and the most recent "accident" in the Gulf.

The media's gross neglect of the full extent of the crisis obviously supports GS's damage control and incriminating connections. These include Blankfein's PFNYC Co-Chairman, Rupert Murdoch, and their pernicious influence over the major networks and the PFNYC - the world's leading petrochemical-pharmaceutical-biotechnology consortium profiting from death, disease, and environmental destruction. This unholy alliance best explains the media's aversion to responsible reporting in the Gulf and elsewhere.

Besides Blankfein and Government Sachs backing stock in both BP and Halliburton, another red oil-drenched herring is Peter D. Sutherland (right) - the outgoing Chairman of BP is also the current Non-Executive Chairman of Goldman Sachs International.

The scariest part of this whole story is that Mr. Sutherland, the man standing with one foot in GS, and the other on the burning Halliburton-BP oil rig, is the Consultor of the Extraordinary Section of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See. In other words, Sutherland is the chief financial adviser to the Pope.

In 2010, Mr. Sutherland finished a 13-year stint as Chairman of BP, Europe's largest oil company. A former Attorney General of Ireland, he is President of the Federal Trust for Education and Research, a British think tank whose efforts might better be called corporatist indoctrination than trustworthy "education." He is Chairman of The Ireland Fund of Great Britain, and a member of the advisory council of Business for New Europe - a pro-New-World-Order European think-tank based in Britain.

From 1993-95, Sutherland was the Director-General of the World Trade Organization.

In January 2006, the current Non-executive Chairman of Goldman Sachs International, was appointed by United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, as his Special Representative for Migration.

Now, ironically, Sutherland's mission impossible is to migrate marine flora and fauna, fishermen, and coastal residents out of harm's way in this spreading international emergency.
